Vintage Rigid Ethnic Anklet from Madhya Pradesh in India

This is an enormous and heavy mixed metal anklet worn by cultivator women in Madhya Pradesh in India. A similar example can be seen in Oppi  Untracht's book Traditional Jewelry of India. It is made of a huge and thick piece of metal thinned out into a sheet and then fashioned into its circular shaped and adorned with heavy granulation at the ends and incised grooves to decorate the body. The anklet is not without flaws. The inside has a big hole in the sheeting. It's an impressive and substantial piece of jewelry.

Inner circumference is 28 cm (11"). Inner diameter is 8.5 cm (3 3/8"). Width is 4.5 cm (1 3/4"). Weight is 405 g.
